There's No Gambling...with God.

It's a new month...September! Wishing all those born in September a prosperous year. Defining the act of gambling would be; "to take a risk in the hope of gaining an advantage or a benefit." - (Answers.com). And we all are guilty of gambling with God. We all engage in the act of gambling, although we engage in different forms of gambling. Even the 'unbelievers', when we come face to face with an unexpected situation like- staring death in the face, there is a tendency for us to begin gambling. The famous statement is 'God if you can save me from..., I would never do... again', we would start recounting how we would never steal, lie, or cheat, again: Or any other act or crime/offense we are guilty of committing. Just as 'unbelievers' are guilty of such act, we believers are not exempted from such practices.

We say 'God if you do this...for me, I would do this... in return'. Ever heard this statement before? Wouldn't be surprised you say it as much as your neighbor says it. It becomes a give and take experiment with God. Why can't we attempt to serve God in Spirit and in Truth? Be like Solomon, present the offering, be obedient, be a blessing unto others, and definitely God would do His part. It doesn't always have to be 'God do this for ME and then I would do this for YOU...after you must have given ME what I asked. Our relationship no longer becomes what it is suppose to be, it becomes a bank account where...the bank charges you for services rendered to your account. We only serve God in OUR convenient time. We only worship God when we feel He has done what we asked of Him. Sometimes we only serve Him when there is trouble and we need help, need a way out of our problems.

Expatiating on our relationship with our Creator as a 'bank account'- we would use a savings account to illustrate this relationship. For a savings account, the bank only adds interest to the account, at a certain percentage (this rate fluctuates), when we deposit money into the account. Therefore, God 'represents' the savings account (with all due respect), and we become the bank itself. We only give God our praises and gratitude when we 'feel' He has added value to our life, or has done what we request of Him. And we begin to decide how much of our praises and gratitude we would give, depending on how big or 'small' the miracle is.

After all is said and done; We all our guilty of gambling with God in our different ways...
However, He is a merciful and just God, so He provides us with chances...
The verdict is; Thou shall not gamble with God your creator!
Reminder: Present yourself humbly before Him, serve Him in truth and He would do His part...
A wise man had this to say about gambling..."It is the child of avarice, the brother of iniquity, and the father of mischief." - George Washington.
Take care, Adios!
