Dads'

Yeehaa! Happy Father's day to all the dads in the house! Teaching and bringing up your children in the right way is very important. The rate of children who don't know their fathers is on the increase. It's high time father's take responsibility and play an active role in their children's lives. Every child has a father: But there is a difference between when a child has a 'biological' father and when the child acknowledges the father as his or her father. The 'biological' father would always be the father of the child, that's a title that can never be taken away. But the father's actions and his proof of responsibility determines if the father exist to the child.

Every man who is a father can make a difference (positive difference) in his child's life. A big thank you to all father's who have taken care of their responsibilities without shoving it aside. We also believe that the fathers who are yet to take up their responsibilities would come around and know that there's no joy that can be compared to, when a man trains his child and the child succeeds in life. When you make a difference in your child's life and the child is able to acknowledge you as his or her father, the way your child sees you is all that matters and not how the world sees or describes you. Your child would probably pray this kind of prayer:
"One night a father overheard his son pray: Dear God, Make me the kind of man my Daddy is. Later that night, the Father prayed, Dear God, Make me the kind of man my son wants me to be."- Source Withheld
Take care and see you around...

Encouraging Others...

Passed deadline again! On the bright side, how did the weekend go? Celebrations for Father's day seems to have begun. This piece is sent out to encourage you all. We all need encouragement once in a while. Just as we have every right and privilege {privilege because you are alive} to dream- to have a vision in life, it's also your responsibility to fulfill those dreams.
You've come a long way for you to give up now. Your dreams are not just about you, they are for others because whatever you become in life would one way or another affect or impact others. You are too great to allow your dreams go down the drain. If you don't achieve your dreams no one else would achieve it for you. People sometimes might have the same dream, but because every individual is unique, the dreams are also unique. You can do it, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Your time is your life, make something of it. We all laze around sometimes saying 'there's no time', you never have time except you create the time. For instance, we go to work because we have created time out to be able to go to work, if we didn't create the time, {since your schedule equals time}, we wouldn't be at work. Get the drift? Those who made their mark in life, didn't make it because they gave up on their dreams, they became successful because they were determined to persevere and they worked hard. They aren't extraordinary people, they are ordinary people just like you but doing extraordinary things. Dreams fulfilled means inspiring others, to inspire others you have to inspire yourself first. You never know you can do something unless you give it a try...

Would leave you with this quote by Henry David Thoreau- "I have learned, that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavours to live the life he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours."
...'the life he or she has imagined', referring to 'imagined' as your dreams. Don't give up, you have come too far to throw in the towel now. Remember delay is not denial...there's a difference. Adios, amigos!

Quote: Meditation.

Hello people! How's your weekend been? She hopes no one is getting tired...lol, don't let the stress get to you. We can always find something positive out of a trying situation. What do you think? There would be no article, or write-up today. She would be putting up a quote, and hopes it's a source of inspiration to you all. She really does appreciate your efforts and time sacrificed to reading this blog. May you be successful in all your endeavours. Many people have come across this quote before but, she would love you to give a new meaning to the quote: Pretty much meditate on the quote.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us, it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
- Marianne Williamson.

It's been great having you around and being able to share with you. Have an excellent week and make sure you do something different {this week}. By different she means something positive. Be safe my friends. Cheers!

The Abuser Isn't More Privileged!

LA was less than eight years of age when it all began. At that time, she never thought the pain would ever end. That someday what she was going through would come to a halt and become a thing of her past. Her past... Ever pondered on how things happen to us and it feels we would never survive the situation? Yer, we are in the same boat. But you did come out of that situation didn't you? Or maybe you are still in that situation. Remember the famous saying 'what wouldn't kill you would only make you stronger'. If you had told LA that years ago she would have told you that's impossible, or better still, she would have said the person was out of her mind. Sometimes it's difficult to agree that the mess you went through {or are going through} would later become your message. Your mess over the ages- a period of time, becomes your message. LA's abuser weighed nothing less than 300pounds {136.4kg}, while she herself weighed nothing more than 70pounds {31.8kg}. Shocked? Yes she did survive it, it was hard...the days she couldn't breathe, and the nights she cried.

LA is just one out of numerous people who have been abused {or are being abused}. Your abuser is not more privileged than you are. Given the situation, it seems the abuser possesses more power than his or her victim, but you can't allow your abuser take advantage of that. You are more powerful than you can imagine. You can free yourself from whatever abusive situation you might have found yourself in. For those who are still hanging on to their past, you can set yourself free by taking control of the situation: That's what determines your victory over an abusive situation. When someone is abused and the individual doesn't let go of such tragic event, the individual is allowing the abuser have a hold over him or her. Subsequently, men suffer abuse just as women suffer abuse. Difference is, the number of abused women are higher than abused men. More so, very few abused individuals open up about their situations. Telling someone {not just anyone}, someone who you trust helps. Most importantly, you have to know that you are not alone, and there are people who God has placed around you to be of help. There are also services available to help people who have been abused.

You've been abused doesn't mean you are worthless. It doesn't make you a weakling. You only become a weakling if you allow the situation take complete control over your life. If you allow that, then depression sets in and if care is not taken, you begin to contemplate suicide. You are greater than that, your potentials can't lay to waste because you've once suffered abuse! Moreover you are wonderfully and fearfully made. If you don't put your potentials to use who would? If you allow your abuser have a hold over you then you aren't living your life. As a result, it becomes difficult to see the greatness in you. It's time to take control of every abusive situation and relationship. Your reviews and comments are appreciated. Take care and hope to see you around next week. Au Revoir!

Mum- You Are A Rare Gem.

For those in Canada, it's Mother's Day- 11th of May. Wishing all our irreplaceable mothers Happy Mother's Day. It's also Mother's Day in Australia, Belgium, Cuba, Ghana, Germany, Italy and the United States, to mention a few. On the other hand, countries such as Ireland, Nigeria and the United Kingdom already celebrated Mother's Day on March 2nd 2008. Still, wishing all mothers irrespective of their countries Happy Mother's Day. This is dedicated to the woman who gave birth to Iyanuloluwa and Oluwafunmibi, our mother, who is a huge part of our lives. First a daughter, then a sister, to some she's a niece to others an aunt, to some a mother and to others a friend and colleague. Most importantly, you are our mother- popularly called 'mummy'. Mothers we truly appreciate you all, it's our prayer never to let you down.

Mum,
You were the chosen one who birth us- your children into this world
For you, giving birth to us was not just another job you had to fulfill
Nurturing us to greater heights is your goal for all your children
Because with you, settling for less does not exist in your dictionary
You sacrifice time even when it seemed 'time' was running out
A mother's love- your love is irreplaceable
Sacrificing your time and money is just a fraction to the many things you sacrificed
Putting your dreams aside for a while to send us to the best of schools
Is never a problem for you
Giving has always been a big part of you
Your patience with us is beyond human imagination
You never hesitate to chastise us when we do something wrong
Just as you always encourage us and believe in us even when we didn't believe in ourselves
You truly are a rare gem
You have always been a source of inspiration, encouragement and strength to us your children
Your smile brightens the room just as your laughter is infectious and genuine
You teach us to be true to ourselves and never to live 'false' lives
Words to describe you and your qualities are very limited
You never condemned us when we did everything wrong
'In your eyes we do no wrong, even though in reality we do everything wrong'
It's great having a friend in you, even greater having you as our mother.

SeƱora Phygina Tolulope, you are indeed a Virtuous woman- a woman of inestimable value. It's a privilege having you as our mother. We your children are honored to know you as mother. May you enjoy the good fruits of your labour. You are priceless. You are a very strong woman. And you are a source [to the glory of God] of inspiration to many. May God grant us many more years of celebration {with you} in Jesus name.
Mum you're the BEST!
With Love...{Iyanuloluwa and Oluwafunmibi}

NEGATIVITY- An Obstacle

To all faithful and new readers she says a big thank you. What's that 'thing' you keep hoping to fulfill someday? Sky diving? Helping the under privileged? Owning a multinational corporation? Preaching the gospel and reaching out to people? Being the next President? Or buying the latest Mercedes Benz SLK55 AMG? For some, don't be surprised, maybe it's being a 'celebrity'...just make sure you make a positive difference as one. We all have dreams, hopes as well as aspirations and they take a lot of hard work and perseverance to be accomplished. But we also have obstacles which seem to prevent us from accomplishing our dreams. We have mountains that seem too rigid to be moved. Don't forget that in the midst of all this, there are people who fulfill their dreams, people who make the difference they always dreamed of. What did they do to get to where they are? Are your dreams so difficult in fulfilling that you are willing to let go of them?

Answers.com describes an obstacle as "one that opposes, stand in the way of, or holds up progress". An obstacle could be seen as a blockage, an hindrance, a barricade, an hurdle, a wall or an obstruction, to mention a few [it's your pick]. Negativity happens to be a form of obstacle, negativity could come in the form of 'friends', professors, family members, course mates, colleagues and supervisors [for those of us who work].

Did you know the biggest form of negativity comes in the beautiful and admirable shape of you [including the author of this blog], no exceptions made. You are thinking, how's that possible? She'll tell you...Although it does sound like she's in conflict with the words by placing negativity with 'beautiful' and 'admirable', it's a deliberate effort. The reason for this is, we always encounter people who send negative 'vibes'. People who discourage us and tell us we can't make it in life, people who seem to have taken 'discouraging others' as a part time or seasonal job. Not full time because they engage in other activities: Being that they are humans like we are. Note, there are people who think sometimes we should not engage in certain things because they might cause our downfall, we are not referring to this set of people. She is focusing on people who every time you tell them joyful things or share an excellent idea with them, they are fast to tell you what is wrong with that idea and that it's impossible to fulfill such a dream.

Now that said, as much as we have people who are very negative about things, we ourselves contribute to how dreams are fulfilled. Sometimes we have people around us telling us we can do it, we can fulfill our dreams, people who take their time to intercede {pray} for us, people who are ready to catch us when we fall and are ready to push us further. Because they trust in our abilities and see how great we can be if only we persevere. At this junction, from within we create obstacles by saying and believing we can't accomplish these dreams. When this happens, it becomes difficult to be determined or to work hard in fulfilling these dreams. In this your not alone, professing that you can and will, is the first step to destroying this obstacle called negativity. Working hard and putting words into action(s) becomes the effective tool in removing the mountain- obstacle completely.

As we go forth in this new week- a week full of opportunities, consider this and work with more positive people. Having a positive approach to life- as you begin to put action(s) to your words.
"The obstacles you face are...mental barriers which can be broken by adopting a more positive approach."- Clarence Blasier

It's a long one, but she is glad you made it to the end. Merci!
