Let's Talk Abortion.

Happy Easter! to those of us who celebrate easter. Thank God for the resurrection. For those who believe in God, imagine where you would be now without Christ. Would we even be in existence? Aiight, so lets go to today's write-up. Abortion.
Everyone's got different views on abortion, a very controversial issue indeed. Philosophers get into debates about when it is too late to have an abortion, and the right-to-life. Philosophers' principles and values are based on logical reasoning rather than on empirical methods. Looking at the denotation- dictionary meaning, of abortion. Answers.com defines it as; " Termination of pregnancy and expulsion of an embryo or of a fetus that is incapable of survival." Just as there are various views on abortion, that's how various definitions of abortion exist.

Consequently, she would not be going in depth on this issue. She would be looking at it from a 'general' [subjective] point of view. When an abortion is carried out, doesn't the individual feel as if she is taking away a part of herself. It's true there are several reasons as to why people commit abortion. Not giving that fetus the chance of becoming a child, the right to life- to live. Limits your knowledge of what the child could have become if he or she was given life. The child is robbed of every chance of becoming someone great in future. Of actually having a purpose in life and fulfilling it. Imagine this...would you have been where you are today if your parents [mothers] had aborted you? I would love to hear our views on abortion, your comments are appreciated. May you be successful in all your endeavors. Below are some quotes to think about:

"
But I feel that the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a war against the child - a direct killing of the innocent child - murder by the mother herself. And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another? How do we persuade a woman not to have an abortion? As always, we must persuade her with love, and we remind ourselves that love means to be willing to give until it hurts. Jesus gave even his life to love us. So the mother who is thinking of abortion, should be helped to love - that is, to give until it hurts her plans, or her free time, to respect the life of her child. The father of that child, whoever he is, must also give until it hurts. By abortion, the mother does not learn to love, but kills even her own child to solve her problems. And by abortion, the father is told that he does not have to take any responsibility at all for the child he has brought into the world."

"T
he so-called right to abortion has pitted mothers against their children and women against men. It has sown violence and discord at the heart of the most intimate human relationships. It has aggravated the derogation of the father's role in an increasingly fatherless society. It has portrayed the greatest of gifts -- a child -- as a competitor, an intrusion, and an inconvenience. It has nominally accorded mothers unfettered dominion over the independent lives of their physically dependent sons and daughters"
"And, in granting this unconscionable power, it has exposed many women to unjust and selfish demands from their husbands or other sexual partners. Human rights are not a privilege conferred by government. They are every human being's entitlement by virtue of his humanity. The right to life does not depend, and must not be declared to be contingent, on the pleasure of anyone else, not even a parent or a sovereign." - Mother Teresa

To all the readers, thank you for being here. Remember the above view is subjective!

Was just thinking through the topic of Abortion and it struck me that abortion has terminated so many potentials. We are in a world that has many struggles and is crying out for help, but does it ever occur to us that sometimes, our help might have dwelt in the hands of those unborn children, who were destined for great assignments on this earth.
Who knows, maybe the peacemaker needed to create peace between 2 nations at war has just been aborted!!

Great topic and a very touching one. I agree that this topic is one that is subjective. The very word abortion is ascribed to death, evil and frowned upon by many. I for one have always said that this topic is one that is too sensitive to delve into. What of the right of the lady who was raped? have we thought of the woman whose chances to live depends on terminating that pregnancy (oh yes such cases exist) what of the woman who has been told if she goes ahead and gives birth, that child will suffer and never live to see their 5th birthday? I will say, let God be the judge of people's action. I believe killing is bad but will be open minded to individual choices.

Whatever our reasons are for indulging in such a bloody act as abortion, such reasons cannot exonerate us from the fact that we have shed an innocent blood and that is MURDER!

Abortion simply terminates or ends the life of an INNOCENT child. What justification exist for such inhumanity or hostility towards the unborn? You take a life to save a life? When did men become gods to determine who lives and who dies?

Imagine how it feels to be yanked limbs apart while still alive! Such is the horror the unborn are exposed to during abortion. Would you be glad to go through that? Ponder on this...!

Beautiful post!

Thanks everyone for ur comments and views, I really do appreciate it.

@Kuchibu: ur comment is right on point, culdn't hv been said any better.

@Lilian: do appreciate u checking my blog and also leaving a comment. It's a very subjective issue becos we also hv case scenarios such as the ones u stated.

@Dammy: Well as u already knw, not everyone believes in God and even for those who do. When they are faced with making such decisions, do we remember that praying to God can help us in taking certain decisions?
Thank you very much for droppin by and giving ur comments and opinions.

Hope to see u all around.
