Broken, Damaged... Yet HE Fixed Me!

Believe the week has been a very busy one for most, the weekend is very much around the corner and sure enough it's the festive season!!! Happy Holidays! Here's a write-up that was inspired by a song that would be posted later on...Be grateful for life!

The days, the nights, the torture and the traumas...
Lamb of God I adore You.
If I had been told that I would have survived it,
I definitely would have doubted with every being of me.
This was a process I never imagined.
Once it started, there was no turning back.
A process I dread!
The dread didn't help much, as my Savior had made up His mind
that I would go through with it.
Jesus You mean all the world to me.
That's why I know that even when everyone, and everything disappoints,
You still remain God. And that's the beauty of it!
Some haven't seen me cry, others have, but you have seen me in that corner:
Wiping for times that didn't seem to pass by.
For pain that hurt so much, rage that filled so much it nearly destroyed me.
It's reason enough that when I remember I appreciate You more!
Indeed it's true that I was broken, YET in Your Grace you made me whole.
I was damaged and You fixed me!
Not because I deserved it but, You found it in your grace, unmerited favor, to heal me.
You definitely are more than enough- You are all I need!

Adios my fellow readers! It's been great having you around. Safe!

"All Men Are Cheats"

Screech...halt! What did you say? Aight, let's rewind...shall we? As we all know, if you aren't guilty of saying it, then you can be convicted of hearing it. The inspiration for this post came while reading a forum, where a lady who had been dating her "fiancee" for 7yrs, had recently cheated on him. As usual the battering of words have been exchanged over this issue. All the same, this write-up is not about whether or not, or in what situation cheating is acceptable, and all that jargon that comes with it. However, while reading the forum, something came to mind and thought to share it with follow readers.

We sometimes seem to want to justify people's actions- actions such as cheating. So much so, we have actually become affected by it, and are not moved, or don't see the need to question such behavior! The phrase "it is in man's nature to cheat" has been heard so many times, it could win an award in special categories. The first thing that came to mind was, when God created man [if you're not a believe, still take a moment to consider this], show me in the Bible, where God told man [Adam] that "now that I have created you, it is in your nature to cheat". Unfortunately, this very statement has caused or allowed for people to settle for less. In the belief that the standards they have set for themselves, might be too high, or that it is acceptable if the man cheats. Please do take the time to really consider the above input. You deserve nothing but the best. If you work hard at being the best you can be, why settle for someone who doesn't care enough to want the best for themselves: Instead, would prefer to wallow in the excuses society has created for them. The phrase {i.e, @ the top} isn't a reason to cheat.

Alrighty! That's about it for now! Appreciate the time, and the passing through! Do have a fulfilled and productive week! Gracias!

Pheww!...

Miss this blog! Since tablet got spoilt, being more of a reader than a writer of a blog...lol! So there's this song, that she loves so much...thought to share it with her lovely people(s)...lol! Anyways, not minding the grammatical error...as she seems to be in a great mood right now! Yeehaa!!! Hopefully, should be back to regular blogging soon...if not...hmm! Here's the link to the song; click here.
Have a great day, as the week wraps up! And remember it's already the 11th month of this wonderful 2009, a year filled with ups and downs, trials and temptations, goodness and grace, successes and also some-not-so-good attempts. Notwithstanding, if we truly look into it, there are a lot of things we have to be grateful for...some are but not limited to, family, friends, work [for those who have a job], life, and health...as many of us know that this year saw a lot of illnesses, deaths and breakdowns. Hey, but guess what! If your reading this right now...it means you are alive, hale and hearty...many started this year...but some aren't here right now! So there is a lot to be grateful for!!! And a BIG thank you, to all those who checked on me, during my absence, including one of my favorite bloggers, SSD, who was a bit down with the flu...but is doing very well at the moment! Thank you!!! Mwuah! It's been an honor serving you all!!!

It's Been Sooo Long....PC Virus!

Been sooo long! Thanks to SSD and others who dropped by! Apologizes for not writing sooner. The reason for absence: Tablet got a virus [her PC's name], so it's been down for a while, which limits the blogger's access to the internet...Oh Lord come to her rescue!!! This post is going to be short, as the public library only gives a certain amount of time for each session! So would refer you to this post, found it pretty interesting...What you think?

Regards! Take care of YOU!!!

What Holds D Authenticity Of My Faith...

I used to believe that everything had its timing.
It was ok, not to be 'conventional':
As long as you were ready for the change when it happened.
Matured enough to understand the significance of the change in one's life:
Responsible enough to accept this change and run with it.
It was ok, to not be in a relationship when others wanted you to be.
It was ok, that people thought you 'weird' when they assumed you were 'non-heterosexual' because you hadn't started dating, just yet:
BUT, you opt to go into a relationship when your mind was matured enough to work and build your relationship.
It's your life, yet, it ticks on their clock!
With eveything so 'conventional' you wondered:
What was left of the value of life (society) you cherished so much?
The pressures saw you drifting unto a different path.
Then you took the time to search within yourself...
Where lies the foundation of my persona?
What holds the authenticity of my faith?

That's it lovely readers! Hope to catch you around sometime...soon! Gracias!!!

Father's Day!

Happy Father's day to all fathers, dads, soon-to be dads!!! This is a journey taken, with faith in every child you have the privilege of caring for. To both spiritual and biological Fathers...it's a time to re-evaluate your relationships with your children. If there be need for improvements, His grace has been made sufficient. Being able to celebrate this day indicates that. Every child deserves a father. Every father deserves respect. The respect is earned, not only by being a biological father but also when your child acknowledges you as [his/her] father. A child can have many father figures, BUT no one can equate a child's Father.

Here's to a Happy Father's Day... "Dance With My Father Again" by Luther Vandross. Enjoy!
"To feel you have no father, is to believe you have lost a significant part of you." Do not let this be the fate of our children. Thanks for being here! Take care ya'll!

Poem: Reflection Afloat.

Hi everyone! How did your week go? It's real good to be back. She was contemplating what write-up to put up. As she already had something else prepared. But this poem came along, and she decided to post it. She hopes as you read it, it would make sense to you. Hope it has some meaning for you. As you go about the weekend, have a blast!

Reflection Afloat.
I happen to see a dead man afloat the river.
The dead man had a reflection of me. Me? Yes me!
A side of me I always knew about,
seemingly come to terms with but refuse to do anything about.
It had become a part of me.
A part, though I detest of, I cleave to so readily.

Cleave to because it provides me the satisfaction of staying within my comfort zone.
Hmm! I begin to wonder...
Why my body must stand in the way of my soul's progress.
The fight between my body and soul is so unique,
The laws of copyright can't withhold it's originality.
Yet it is with much joy that I watch my obstacles and hindrances afloat like a dead man with no life, after drowning.

Thus my reflection indicates the dead man afloat is ME!

That's it people. Enjoy the weekend! Merci.

Mothers- A Blessing!

It's been a month. What's the verdict? As we all know it's mother's Day in Canada, as well as a number of other countries in the world- most especially in North America. You are probably already aware that it varies around the world, i.e; the dates we celebrate Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day to all our loving mothers, including expectant mothers. As they say, 'it's a day to honor mothers and motherhood'. So below is a little piece for the Virtuous woman I call my Mother. Notwithstanding, it speaks to all mothers who have worked hard, prayed and encouraged us through our journey in this world.
My Esteemed Jewel.
I am the bone of her bone, the one by which I was birth forth.
The one that Christ gave the strength and grace to train me in the "way of the Lord".
In her womb I was conceived, In her womb I was sheltered for 9 months .
I am not with her 24/7, 365days/yr, but through her instinct[s] she knows when am down.
Her discerning spirit- I thank God for.
Her loyalty and dedication makes the difference,
Helps her set her priorities right.
Her service to God, builds my faith in Him.
His grace made sufficient for her; Makes me withstand the days of trials.
Indeed you are a Blessing. You are my Esteemed Jewel- Mum!
Merci! Do have a fabulous week! She is excited. With God's grace we are back to blogging frequently.

His The Reason 4 D Season- Easter!

For we the believers and we the unbelievers, for those of us who are on the road to redemption and for those who are about taking the path to redemption, we say Happy Easter! It's great to know someone died for us on the Cross of Calvary for the atonement of our sins and for the redemption of our souls. How great His faithfulness. We hope everyone had a lovely weekend. Oh yes! Not that we forgot but we were suppose to change the layout of the blog. However, in trying to change the layout, sometimes we encountered difficulties.

There were times it was hard changing because we are so use to this layout, no layout seemed good enough. You know when you have something you have gotten use to, it sometimes is hard to let go or allow change. Also even though no post was written on the blog during the break, mentally she was always writing posts,or once in a while would scribble something on paper. Didn't realize she was attached to this blog. Readers like
SD, Ladyguide have in their own way [unconsciously] encouraged the continuiation of this wonderful blog.

A blog aimed @ making a difference, positive difference, in our reader's lives. Happy Easter to all you wonderful people out there. Have a splendid week ahead! It's good to be back!!!

A Reminder- Message...

This had to be posted even though we are going through some form of transition, break if you will. But this message has been on hold for awhile. And so many things have been happening that confirms that this message has to be delivered. Women, you are precious jewels. You have value more than you can imagine. Your value is priceless: [U-VIP]! We have heard, seen, and we even know women, ladies, who have been abused one way or the other; physically, emotionally, sexually...name it. It's unbelievable. Sometimes it doesn't 'reach home' till we know someone experiencing such intolerable agony. You as an individual might have gone through, or might be going through such an experience. You don't have to go through it alone. There are people out there willing to help. Talk to someone if the need be. No one deserves to go through such an experience.

Abuse, any type of abuse affects one's esteem, one's views on life and one's relationships- your relations with other people. Whether consciously or unconsciously...the bitter truth is it does! Let's come together and help those who need our help. With this technology age, information and resources are not far from us. As individuals lets come together to make a collective effort. Would expatiate on the issue of abuse on another post. This post is just to let you know that we should give support to those who need it. And for those going through abuse, you don't have to...sometimes the expected thing is to withdraw, even from your loved ones...BUT! That does not help, it doesn't help with the process or stages of healing. As you go in the new week, here is a song for you, click here.
Merci!

Restructuring.

Apologizes for the on and off periods. We are working on some form of re-structuring for the blog and hope to come back more consistent, and better. Thanks for staying with us. Do have a lovely time! And if you have any comments, that would definitely help improve the blog and any advice on how to increase traffic to the blog would be appreciated. Thank you once again for your time. Would be back!

Adios.

It's A New Year

Happy New Year to you all. It's a new year, and we all hope for a new beginning, and the strength to see through. Don't give up on those dreams yet! The fact that you are alive means there is a purpose for which you are living. That purpose needs to be fulfilled. 2008 was a successful year for some, for others it was a trying time. The world definitely had it's own share of problems, but we thank God for seeing us through. He has never failed! 2009 is going to be glorious! Faith is an important part of our lives. Let's all strive to work harder, to give our best and to stay focused on the goal...the prize. Strive to be a better person. to maintain healthy relationships, and accomplish your dreams, fulfill hopes, and achieve aspirations. It's a good year. You BELIEVE, work HARD, pray FERVENTLY...because to YOU , you owe this ATTAINMENT!!! It's a GREAT year.
YOU OWE IT TO YOURSELF NOT TO BE A WIMP*!!!

It's been a while...

Thought about you some few days ago, felt as if she offended you by not writing...Listening to "Ekundayo" by TY Bello, and became motivated to write. It is true not having as much readers could sometimes make a blogger think twice. Thinking, without readers, there's no use for the blog. However, still appreciative of those who take the time to come around and hope to God it makes a difference. Thought about writing about relationships, marriage and even ask questions and talk about ladies who keep going back to abusive relationships. But it doesn't feel right as of yet. Believe everything in life happens in good timing. Not blogging when you feel you are suppose to, or not blogging at the usual time (you blog), creates a feeling in you...as if you let someone down, or like committing an offense. Although it's different this time because you are fully aware of this act, but one doesn't 'retrace' one's steps.

So was writing a paper this week about multiculturalism for one of her Sociology classes and came across a quote by Malcolm X, which seems pretty interesting. Using a cup of coffee to explain the concept of multiculturalism and its significance. Pretty neat eh? Below is the quote by someone we all remember (controversial...you may say)! Writing this now reminds one of Spike Lee's 'Malcolm X'(s') film. Anyhuu...leaving you with the quote for this week:
"It's just like when you've got some coffee that's too black, which means it's too strong. What do you do? You integrate it with cream, you make it weak. But if you pour too much cream in it, you wouldn't even know you ever had coffee. It used to be hot, it becomes cool. It used to be strong, it becomes weak. It used to wake you up, now it puts you to sleep."
Moral: Do everything in moderation.
Have a blast in this coming week. Ciao!

BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA- The 44th Presidential Elect!

So just had to blog earlier this week. With November 4th (2008 obviously) being a very historic day in the United States! Am sure we all remember where we were when Obama was elected as being the 44TH PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. Some of us couldn't laugh or cry, others cried, laughed and screamed. Finally Martin Luther King's dream had come true. The world stands to witness this victory. And as Obama puts it, it's we (the voters), the people that own this victory. In his words; "Change has come to America". Yes we can, is now as of November 4th 2008...YES WE HAVE!

Our prayer is God would give him the strength to lead his people. Like Obama said "it might not be done in 1yr or in a term, slowly but surely we would get there."
And to top it all...his acceptance speech [which was *speechless*] and this whole event is something we all can learn from.
"This victory alone is not the change we seek- it is only the chance for us to make that change."
CONGRATULATIONS TO AMERICA'S 44TH PRESIDENTIAL ELECT...BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA!

As we all know: "Rosa Parks sat so Martin Luther King could walk, Martin walked so that Barack Obama could run, Obama is running so that our children can fly." Keep the flag flying people.
This victory tells us that; when we dream we should dream BIG, don't give up, it would take a lot of hard work, but it's all worth it. YES YOU CAN, YES WE HAVE!
Adios!

5ive Categories of Wives...

Hope you aren't surprised at the title of this post...lol! Oh well, what can we say? This was inspired by someone in the film industry. And according to the person there are five categories of women. Would agree with the way these five categories were described. So here goes the list;

The categories are as follows:

1.) Double Dealers: They are neither here nor there. Not because they don't want to get married, but their ex-lovers won't let them. They answer to both their husbands and their concubines. Sometimes they treat their concubines better than they treat their husbands.

2.) Friends: They are friends to the husbands and at the same time to the concubines. They can have two husbands in their neighborhood.

3.) Elders- known as 'egbon'* (a.k.a The Controllers): They behave as if God has given them powers. They are very powerful and whatever they say musn't be changed. It's a case of 'yes' and 'amen', no questions asked! They give orders to their husbands and they don't see it as something bad. Even her mother-in-law dare not come pay them a visit. She'll throw out her property: After all, 'why does she have to come without any prior notice?' She won't like to see her husband's relations, but her husband will and must take care of the responsibilities of her own relations!

The above 3hree types are placed in the 'bad' categories.

4.) A Wife like a Mother: 'If a mother is talking to her child, if the child is sensible and responsible, he'll listen to his mother'. This is a wife that wants nothing but the best for her husband.

5.) A Wife like a Child: A wife who will advice her husband and, who will be very industrious.

*Note: 'egbon' is a yoruba word for someone older than you (i.e. senior).

Now, wouldn't be surprised if some people do not agree with these categories, bearing in mind it's based on a subjective view. But we would probably have people who agree with one or more of the above categories. It's been nice having you around. Stay safe and have a blast this new week! And a big thank you to the new readers who have stopped by. Gracias!

Words of Wisdom...

Would go right to it...

If you're stuck in the past and God is trying to take you to a new level in Him- Let it go!

You might claim to be busy...but God is never too busy to take care of you. It might seem there isn't a way out, nevertheless, I want you to hold on because you are a living testimony. That is why after the trial comes the victory, and then the freedom. Yours is the talk of perfection. - With Love.

The life you live was lent to you by the owner and therefore when you make decisions, you must ask the owner.

If you've got wisdom, you have the strength to love, and the ability to acquire wealth!

Without a clear understanding of your purpose, life becomes an experiment!

For those celebrating thanksgiving, Happy Thanksgiving! For those who are traveling, here's wishing you safe journey. Have a blessed weekend!

Jokes- The Difference btw Advertising and Marketing

How's everyone doing? Here's something for the weekend... It was sent by a friend.

You see a gorgeous girl at a party. You go up to her and say:
"I am very rich. "Marry me!" - That's Direct Marketing..."
You're at a party with a bunch of friends and see a gorgeous girl.
One of your friends goes up to her, and pointing at you says:
"He's very rich."Marry him." -That's Advertising..."

See the difference...lol!
Have a great weekend.

There's No Gambling...with God.

It's a new month...September! Wishing all those born in September a prosperous year. Defining the act of gambling would be; "to take a risk in the hope of gaining an advantage or a benefit." - (Answers.com). And we all are guilty of gambling with God. We all engage in the act of gambling, although we engage in different forms of gambling. Even the 'unbelievers', when we come face to face with an unexpected situation like- staring death in the face, there is a tendency for us to begin gambling. The famous statement is 'God if you can save me from..., I would never do... again', we would start recounting how we would never steal, lie, or cheat, again: Or any other act or crime/offense we are guilty of committing. Just as 'unbelievers' are guilty of such act, we believers are not exempted from such practices.

We say 'God if you do this...for me, I would do this... in return'. Ever heard this statement before? Wouldn't be surprised you say it as much as your neighbor says it. It becomes a give and take experiment with God. Why can't we attempt to serve God in Spirit and in Truth? Be like Solomon, present the offering, be obedient, be a blessing unto others, and definitely God would do His part. It doesn't always have to be 'God do this for ME and then I would do this for YOU...after you must have given ME what I asked. Our relationship no longer becomes what it is suppose to be, it becomes a bank account where...the bank charges you for services rendered to your account. We only serve God in OUR convenient time. We only worship God when we feel He has done what we asked of Him. Sometimes we only serve Him when there is trouble and we need help, need a way out of our problems.

Expatiating on our relationship with our Creator as a 'bank account'- we would use a savings account to illustrate this relationship. For a savings account, the bank only adds interest to the account, at a certain percentage (this rate fluctuates), when we deposit money into the account. Therefore, God 'represents' the savings account (with all due respect), and we become the bank itself. We only give God our praises and gratitude when we 'feel' He has added value to our life, or has done what we request of Him. And we begin to decide how much of our praises and gratitude we would give, depending on how big or 'small' the miracle is.

After all is said and done; We all our guilty of gambling with God in our different ways...
However, He is a merciful and just God, so He provides us with chances...
The verdict is; Thou shall not gamble with God your creator!
Reminder: Present yourself humbly before Him, serve Him in truth and He would do His part...
A wise man had this to say about gambling..."It is the child of avarice, the brother of iniquity, and the father of mischief." - George Washington.
Take care, Adios!

Liken Marriage 2 a Hsemate...

You surprised at the comparison? Or you wondering how would anyone compare marriage to a house mate? Lately discussions about marriage and problems in marriages have been coming up, she's been reading forums and articles about marriage and every argument that comes with it. It becomes interesting to know that different people have different say about this topic. However, the aim here is not to try to convince anyone that marriage is without it's problems, neither is it an outlet to lay blame on people about how they default in building strong relationships. No! it's not. Notwithstanding, we would only be using the concept of a house mate to shed more light on this symbolic issue of marriage (if there is any such phrase...lol!).

No one ever said marriage is without it's issues but it seems people stress the problems or situations that surface in marriages. As individuals we have our issues, our flaws but yet we have family and friends that accept us for who we are. This also applies to marriage, we all know marriage is a union between a husband and his wife (generally, not placing a religious criteria). When you move in with a house mate, sometimes you guyz could become so close that you become the best of friends, and sometimes, people mistake you for siblings (assuming same gender or background). Prior to moving in you have your flaws but this is over looked by the house mate (if the above statement applies) and you're sometimes able to reach a compromise. It's similar with marriage, because your partner accepts you for you, with your flaws and differences in opinions, yet that does not disrupt the growth of the relationship.

However, if you have a house mate were either one can not stand the sight of the other, then living could become difficult. Similarly in marriage, if both partners are not compatible that could cause a big problem in the relationship. As a result, it becomes an issue of leaving the marriage, if one is not exactly an advocate of divorce (that's subjective). Unlike were with the house mate, you could decide to move out or have a change of house mates. Marriage isn't a bed of roses, it does come with it's own issues because it's no longer just an individual but two of them working to build their relationship. And as with a compatible house mate you both could be best friends for life. Just as with marriage, if you're able to make it work, then you grow stronger. At this junction your vows manifest itself...

"For better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, till death do you part!"- Even in death you probably still would love the person (can't exactly tell you how that works!). It's been great having you around, take care. Arrivederci!!!
